Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real Estate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate shall have diverse experience in all real estate matters. Experience in construction, entitlements, and litigation is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Real Estate Transactions:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, purchase agreements, and other transactional documents.
- Conduct due diligence, including title reviews, zoning analyses, and risk assessments.
- Facilitate closings and oversee transaction compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Construction:
- Provide legal guidance on construction projects, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts, subcontracts, and development agreements.
- Address legal issues related to project financing, contractor disputes, and lien claims.
- Entitlements and Land Use:
- Advise on zoning, permitting, and land use matters.
- Assist in securing entitlements and approvals from governmental entities.
- Represent the company before planning boards, zoning commissions, and other regulatory bodies.
- Litigation Prevention and Management:
- Manage disputes related to real estate transactions, daily operation, construction projects, or land use.
- Collaborate with outside counsel to develop strategies, prepare pleadings, and represent the company in mediation, arbitration, or court proceedings.
- Provide proactive legal advice to mitigate risks.
- Stay updated on real estate and construction industry trends, laws, and regulations.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members, senior management, and principals to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with outside counsels on multidisciplinary projects.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing (state-specific requirement).
- 5 years of experience in real estate, with a focus on construction, entitlements, and litigation.
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
This position is not remote and requires in office presence. Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, site visits, or court appearances.
