- Performs supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel including interviewing, hiring, firing, training, developing, planning, assigning work, coaching, appraising performance, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Establishes location goals and objectives, measures progress, analyzes results, and makes improvements as needed.
- Develops, implements, and refines policies and procedures to ensure overall effective performance.
- Confers with fleets and other administrative personnel regarding terminal functions and equipment needs.
- Processes shop work orders to ensure timely completion of equipment repairs.
- Assists drivers with repair write-ups and addresses concerns as needed.
- Coordinates with vendors to schedule warranty work.
- Oversees parts procurement in order to maintain appropriate inventory levels and to control consumables.
- Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and Company poliies and procedures.
- Researches, compiles, updates, presents, and tracks spreadsheets and reports.
- Travels as needed.
- Receives and carries out instructions.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs work requiring advanced knowledge while consistently exercising discretion and judgement.
- Communicates effectively.
- Demonstrates effective leadership.
- Solves problems and makes decisions independently and proactively.
- Manages multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Uses computers and software programs proficiently.
- Exhibits ability to read, write, talk, and hear; add, subtract, multiply, and divide; and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as required.
Bachelor's degree; or three to four of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver's license, CDL preferred
EPA Certifications 608 and 609 preferred
Forklift certification
Safety shoes (steel toe or composite) required
The nature of the working environment is one in which the employee may come in contact with outside weather conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or extreme heat, and excessive noise levels.
