Position Overview:
The Plant Operations Manager is detail oriented and is passionate about getting involved in a little bit of everything in our custom design/manufacturing business with a focus on the Production/Shipping Team. This person will help oversee the day to day operations on the Production floor but also check in with the other teams to see how the daily tasks are going. With this position comes a high level of communication, teamwork amongst departments, positive and efficient management of Production team and a sense of urgency to get product to customers on time. It is important to be able to be proactive about projects coming through to Production and shipping while leading the team and remaining a true professional, executing the Cristaux values.
This is an on-site position at our Elk Grove Village facility to continually work with our production team to evolve systems and processes. The Plant Operations Manager will play an integral role in interacting with all departments to help our business establish efficiencies and work together to meet the client’s needs.
Qualifications and Physical/Mental Requirements:
Due to the flexible and urgent nature of the design and manufacturing industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs.
- The Plant Operations Manager will need to possess a problem/solution approach to working through customer projects and deadlines in a fast pace and changing environment. Projects often change throughout the process due to Client asks and the Plant Operations Manager needs to be flexible while clearly and positively communicating changes to the team. The Plant Operations Manager must be willing to collaborate with other departments on projects to check status, help work with changes, and confirm production/shipping capabilities. This role will report directly into the Director of Operations (in a remote capacity) and responsible for working with the Director of Operations to address process improvements and departmental efficiencies.

- Art/Creative
- Working with Department Manager and Supporting on-site teams with work order challenges.
- Oversight of AWOs w/ Issues w/ Sales Dept Accountability.
- Oversight of weekly KPIs / Company Scorecard within Dept.
- Production / QC
- Facilities Oversight: Machinery, other Equipment, working w/ Facility Vendors for Maintenance Issues.
- Prioritizing Orders & Production based on In-Hands Dates.
- Working with Sales Art/Creative when challenges arrive on projects inside of production to value steam efficiencies.
- Team Management: Clear communication from Management to Production team, Production Schedule / Training, Coaching Counseling, Outsourced Team Member trainings, day to day management.
- Print and pull inventory for work orders when needed.
- Prepare products for assembly post-production, including organizing for collation.
- Create and verify labels and packing lists for projects.
- In charge of reviewing daily and weekly QC reports with operations.
- Shipping:
- Maintaining relationship and working directly with FedEx & UPS.
- Oversee the shipping process.
- Travel to vendors to pick up product or FedEx/Ups when needed.
- Sales
- Overseeing non-quad 1 account managers over data consistency and pipeline efforts.
- Keeping team focused on sales growth and reporting
- Oversight of weekly reporting and activity from sales and account management team.
- Supporting on-site teams with sales order and artwork order discrepancies.
- Assisting in creating processes that help maintain renewals of business.
- Supporting e-commerce team where and if needed. Coordinating w/ e-commerce and sales team if e-commerce-based orders come into our facility for order fulfillment.
- Oversight and support on quotes and creative cards that age for too long.
- Facilities:
- All production area needs to be completely cleaned (computer, laser, metal cutting area),
- In charge of overseeing overall condition of the buildings including cleanliness, landscaping, repairs and security of the building.
Position Responsibilities:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Must possess clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Minimum 2 years working experience manufacturing industry.
- Previous experience working with a Creative Team is a plus.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to handle the stress of a deadline.
- Ensure guest expectations are exceeded through proper communication interdepartmentally.
- Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces according to OSHA regulations.
- Ensure security of any assigned keys and tools and machinery.
- Clean, vacuum and organize work stations and work areas
- Clean and remove trash from all work areas at end of every day.
- Ensure there is nothing stored hazardous places.
- Maintain within fire code
- Handle delivery and receiving of product
- Heavy lifting and working heavy machinery.
License/Certificate
Education:
High School or equivalent preferred but not necessary. Additional training and education is highly desirable.
Experience:
Prior experience in production, logistic and quality check related positions preferred.
Daily tasks include: Working and managing a team, attention to detail, problem solving, cleaning work area, heavy lifting (up to 50lbs.) and organizing. Self-initiative is strongly preferred.
Salary : $75 - $85
