Overview
The Development Director plays a crucial role in shaping the fundraising strategy and the execution of development initiatives for our nonprofit organization. Responsibilities
- Annual Fundraising Campaign development and implementation: End of Year Campaign; Fundraising Galas; Small group events; Create and execute a schedule of year-round fundraising appeal correspondence; lead and oversee appropriate other donor-centric communications, including monthly newsletter
- Donor Cultivation, Moves Management
- Database Management – maintain integrity of fundraising database (Salesforce)
- In collaboration with other team members, ensure completion of donor record-keeping and gift acknowledgements
- Grant management, including the research and application of the grants calendar
- Lead and Develop the Crossover Ambassador program
- Advocate for the organization in the community through presentations to civic groups
- Facilitate the Board of Directors Development Committee
- Social Media campaign collaboration
- Annual Report collaboration
- Corporate Partner recruitment and management
- Outreach efforts via local event calendars and press releases
- Capital Campaign interface and support, including endowment rollout
- Weekly and Monthly reporting to management
- Weekly Donations and Acknowledgements report review and summary: Crossover Corporate Partners update; Weekly and Monthly Activity report; Monthly Outreach Projection/Plan; Social Media updates; Board update report every 6 weeks in advance of meetings
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, marketing or equivalent preferred
- 5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising with at least 1 year of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience
- Demonstrated experience in major gift giving
- Marketing experience preferred
- Strong administrative skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks
- Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Experience with donor development/CRM software systems a plus
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Concern for social justice and keen interest in working for an organization dedicated to racial harmony and empowerment of under-served youth
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
