Drive CSM/CSI regional sales, service, and merchandising responsibilities to meet and exceed specific growth in big box, traditional and independent lumber, and hardware dealers through the acquisition of new customers and growth in existing distribution with key focus categories. The candidate should live toward the eastern side of Dallas.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide product knowledge training to store employees and customers
- Contractor breakfast and event support
- Set up merchandise displays
- Cross-merchandising execution
- Planogram auditing
- Category resets
- New product launch: SKU cut-in and product knowledge training
- Periodic competitive price audits (Comp Shops)
- Merchandise; stock and display maintenance
- Build relationships with store personnel and management team
- Assist in store resets, remodels and new store set up
- Ability to conduct product demonstrations to new and current customers
- Participate in weekday and weekend demos and events
- Focus on strategic initiatives in traditional trade and industrial distribution via category management and thru demonstration of features and benefits of key products.
- Research and identify high potential targets
- Have a ‘hunter’ mentality and eager for new incremental business
- Understanding of the user needs and relevant product for specific channel of distribution
- Able and willing to use store provided rolling staircase to retrieve merchandise from overstock locations up to 16 feet high
- Able and willing to lift, pull, and push items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and team lift, pull, and push items up to 130 pounds
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2 years’ field sales experience
- Mandatory pre-employment drug test and background check
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance
- Ability to drive brand recognition
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with internal teams and executive management as well as external customers to maximize mutual benefit
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and respond effectively to account and user needs
- Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on topics to customers & management
- General knowledge and use of hand and power tools
- Lead temporary merchandisers on larger scale resets
- Varying length of travel/overnight stays
- Participate in regional and national trade show
- Knowledge of Industrial, Lumber, and Hardware channel
- Selling and interpersonal skills
- Strong, effective oral and written communications skills
- PC and Microsoft Office skills
