In this role as a CNC Machinist, you will utilize your technical expertise to interpret production documents, set up and optimize CNC equipment, and ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process. This position is part of an AM Weekend Crew, operating on Saturday and Sunday shifts, ideal for those who appreciate structured, performance-focused work.
Key Responsibilities
Production Setup & Operation:
Interpret work instructions, blueprints, and job orders to determine product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
Calculate and adjust machine settings such as cutting depth, speed, feed rate, and coolant flow to meet production demands.
Program Optimization & Troubleshooting:
Assist with editing and optimizing CNC production programs to enhance overall efficiency.
Document and record any program modifications to ensure reproducible setups and streamlined processes.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor the machine operation and verify the final product meets specifications using measuring instruments (fixed gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Perform deburring and finishing operations to ensure components align with blueprint requirements.
Safety & Maintenance:
Adhere to all established safety protocols and best practices during machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience:
1-3 years’ experience operating CNC milling or turning machines is preferred.
Familiarity with verifying dimensions using precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) is highly desirable.
Technical & Basic Skills:
Basic computer skills and the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations accurately.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical documents and production blueprints.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods (8-10 hours daily) and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 70 lbs with assistance when required.
Additional Attributes:
Flexibility to work overtime or additional shifts as needed.
