Job Title: Paraprofessional Substitute

Reports To: Building Administrator and K-12 Special Ed
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: The Paraprofessional Substitute assists in the instructional process and supports students in the absence of the regular paraprofessional. This role is vital in providing a conducive learning environment and ensuring that students receive the necessary support to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering instructional activities and materials to students.
- Support students with special needs by providing individualized attention and assistance.
- Help maintain a positive and structured classroom environment.
- Implement behavioral management strategies as directed by the teacher.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during activities and transitions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children, especially in an educational or special education setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and student needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards students.
