The NASCAR Hall of Fame is an interactive entertainment attraction honoring the history and heritage of NASCAR. The high-tech venue, designed to educate and entertain race fans and non-fans alike, includes artifacts, hands-on exhibits, a 278-person state-of-the-art theater, Hall of Honor, NASCAR Hall of Fame Gear Shop, and an attached parking garage on Brevard Street. The goal of the facility is to honor NASCAR icons and create an enduring tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others that have impacted the sport in the past, present, and future.
Job Summary
The seasonal Education Associate enhances the learning experience of NASCAR Hall of Fame guests by facilitating the exploration of exhibits and by delivering educational activities. The Education Associate facilitates hands-on activities with students in a “classroom” setting and on the exhibit floors during the months of May – August and other key times of year (such as winter/holiday or spring break). Applicants will directly work with students and visitors of all ages and provide exceptional customer service.
A. Essential Job Duties
- Assist and direct activities relating to a number of thematic programs offered to school groups and youth groups periodically throughout the year.
- Facilitate public programs which could include but not limited to tours, speaker sessions or crafts/games
- Facilitate exhibit interactive activities including support of operational guest service staff members
- Facilitate group visits from welcome to exit.
- Provide support for early morning and late afternoon activities as part of extended care
- Prep activities and assemble materials for each activity.
- May perform other duties as required.
Training
- Skills training and program execution for content is provided on-site by Education team
- Current AED, CPR and First Training certification required by approved sanctioning organization.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Experience with working with children (all ages).
- Experience working with the general public, adults, families, fans
- Ability to present and facilitate activities large groups.
- Familiarity with general education and STEAM content.
- Familiarity with NASCAR (helpful but not essential)
- Ability to provide excellent guest service to visitors.
- Ability to read and integrate program content quickly
Education and Experience:
- Prior experience working with children and youth for at least 6 months
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional guest services and customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear understanding of science concepts.
- Prior experience working with groups of at least 25 - 50
- Ability to work well as a team member or independently.
- Bachelor degree or pursuing college degree in a science field or education is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to spend long periods of time (up to 1 hour minimum) talking and engaging with groups
- Must be comfortable with and able to climb and descend stairs.
- Must be able to lift 35lbs.
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment varies based on venue activities.
- Must be able to work during the months of May – August, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Flexible schedule for other times of years preferred but not mandatory
- The ability to work 20 hours per week is preferred.
- Required to work 24 hours per month to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Travel Required
- Travel to off-site events or activities, minimal
