**Key Responsibilities**
As a Wildland Fire Management Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing prescribed fires and fuels programs to maintain healthy ecosystems
- Leading forestry technician teams in wildland firefighting operations
- Developing and implementing fire management plans to mitigate risks and protect assets
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
**Required Skills & Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Range Management, Agriculture, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience as a Prescribed Fire and Fuels Technician, Forestry Technician, or higher graded position
- Red card qualifications as a Firing Boss (FIRB) trainee, Single Resource Boss (CRWB, ENGB, HEQB, FELB), and Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5)
- Possession of a valid State of Montana Drivers License for vehicle operation
- Experience in wildland firefighting on the fireline, either within Tribal government or equivalent experience outside
- Ability to continuously meet Interagency Incident Qualifications System (IQCS) requirements
