As CSU STRATA’s Human Resources Director, you will advance the priorities of the organization through employee relations, training, recruitment/employment, compensation, affirmative action, benefits management, performance management, policy development and implementation, employment law compliance, and payroll. The Director must be sensitive to employee morale and strategic with organizational needs working closely with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Human Resources Director, you are the leader responsible for ensuring all human resources programs function in alignment with CSU STRATA’s mission, vision, and values. You:
- Prepare accurate reports, metrics, and other information for internal and external purposes including compliance, auditing, and governmental reporting.
- Oversee workforce planning with the Executive Leadership Team executing the recruitment and retention efforts of the organization along with the employee onboarding experience.
- Plan, organize, and implement trainings working closely with business unit leaders to understand departmental and individual training needs to proactively address workforce and succession planning.
- Lead efforts to establish organization-wide compensation strategies.
- Establish employee relations programs and protocols including grievance and progressive discipline policies and procedures.
- Oversee the annual review, renewal, and negotiation of employee benefits, providing recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Monitor changes to local, state, and federal laws ensuring compliance and directing the update of policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Prepare and report annual HR analytics to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Cross train on human resources functions and provide backup to members of the human resources team as needed.
- Annually update work process documentation ensuring that proper files are maintained in accordance with record retention policies.
- Participate in budget planning and monitoring exercises.
- Manage human resources financial obligations in collaboration with the CFO.
- Provide updates, progress reports, recommendations, and presentations to Board members at scheduled board meetings.
- Mentor and manage the professional growth of human resource team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Required: bachelor’s degree in business or a closely related field.
- Required: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
Experience Required:
- >8 years professional human resources experience across a variety of functional areas including employee relations, training, recruitment/employment, compensation, affirmative action, benefits management, performance management, policy development and implementation, employment law compliance, and payroll.
- >5 years working with HRIS software.
- >5 years supervising human resources staff.
Preferred:
- 3 years in a non-profit setting.
- Experience with NetSuite, ADP, Salesforce and Concur.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of human resources principles and best practices.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local existing and proposed laws/regulation affecting human resource management. Ability to interpret laws and policies.
- Ability to prepare and maintain records.
- Ability to communicate complex and detailed information.
- Ability to identify problems timely and bring about accurate solutions.
- Strong computer skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated through application materials and experience.
- A proven team player and individual contributor.

Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000 annualized, depending on qualifications.
