CTU Precast has an opening for a Safety Coordinator. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our Safety program, including program development, risk assessment, audits/inspections, training, and monitoring safety activities in our manufacturing plant as well as on our jobsites. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques; capable of identifying known/potential exposures and recommending corrective actions.

CTU Precast services the states of California, Oregon and Nevada with quality precast/pre-stressed concrete products which are used for commercial, industrial and institutional projects. The virtues of the in-plant production are our motivation for providing pre-cast concrete to the markets we serve. CTU is a PCI certified plant for architectural and structural pre-cast products.

Pre-cast products are designed, manufactured and tested in our plant under the supervision of experienced management and a PCI Certified Quality Control Program. CTU precast is PCI certified for Architectural and Industrial/structural products. Concrete Technologies Unlimited (CTU) is a precast producer / manufacturer of a full range of precast concrete products. CTU Precast comprises of design, management, production and on-site installation teams that have many years of experience in the concrete industry. From design to installation, we are equipped to provide the highest quality products.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Continually reviews and monitors all aspects of the EHS program for effectiveness,
  • Interacts with regulatory agencies, consultants, vendors, contractors, and sub-contractors,
  • Performs and documents jobsite inspections/audits, with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behavior,
  • Conducts post-accident/incident investigations and prepares written reports of findings and recommendations,
  • Coordinates EHS planning with project superintendents,
  • Develops and implements EHS training programs,
  • Prepares written EHS programs/policies and implements new processes,
  • Participates in process reviews; providing hazard analyses, training, etc.,
  • Coordinates safety orientations and administers safety incentive program,
  • Assists in the prequalification of contract and subcontract work,
  • Promotes EHS awareness through company memoranda,
  • Maintains and/or posts appropriate safety bulletins, posters, rules, and applicable legislation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or Environmental & Occupational Health or Engineering, or 10 years of relevant workplace history in Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing or construction desired
  • Expert knowledge of construction safety & environmental rules and regulations,
  • Excellent computer and presentation skills,
  • Must have the ability to identify and resolve complex issues,
  • Must be procedural and proactive with excellent communication skills,
  • Must be a motivated self-starter, professional and result driven,
  • Travel is required for jobsite visits, inspections, etc. (approximately 5%),
