What are the responsibilities and job description for the PACT NURSE SPECIALIST position at Cumberland County Guidance Center?
Dynamic Opportunity~ As a full-time PACT Nurse Specialist, working 40 hour per week, you are responsible for providing assessments of mental illness symptoms and behavior in response to medication and monitors for side effects. Assures order accuracy, medication distribution and medication administration. Provides and tracks Nursing Assessments of consumers upon entry to the program and annually. Track all medications received and distributed.
The Guidance Center~ is a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care for individuals and families with mental health needs in the greater Cumberland County, NJ area. For more than 60 years, our non-profit organization of professionals, doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, has assisted the community in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of mental illness.
What does this position look like~ Serves as a member of the PACT Team providing assessments of mental illness symptoms and behavior in response to medication and monitors for side effects. Monthly inventory of all medications and medical supplies as well as preparation and scheduling of the following month's agenda. Provides supportive counseling and education to assist individuals served to manage, cope and gain mastery over symptoms and disability.
What you need to apply~
- Valid New Jersey Registered Nurse's license required.
- Degree in nursing.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Two (2) years experience in working with the chronically mentally ill and some supervisory experience.
- A valid New Jersey driver's license and ability to be insured by carrier. (5 year abstract completed)
