Who You Are:
As the Payroll Manager at Curaleaf, you will lead and oversee all aspects of payroll operations for our dynamic, global workforce of 5,000 employees. This critical role blends hands-on payroll processing with team leadership, driving accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all payroll functions. You’ll spearhead continuous process improvements, ensuring efficient operations while supporting Curaleaf's growth and commitment to employee satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage all payroll operations with precision, including full-cycle processing, special runs, tax withholdings, deductions, and adjustments
- Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team to ensure exceptional service delivery and continuous performance improvement
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and international payroll regulations, HR policies, and internal controls
- Proactively resolve tax-related issues, collaborate with external payroll providers, and support audits by implementing improvement recommendations
- Drive payroll process improvements by implementing best practices, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring accuracy through thorough documentation and cross-training initiatives
- Own and optimize Wurk timecard and payroll system configurations to ensure seamless, efficient, and compliant payroll operations
- Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Finance to streamline employee data integration and ensure accurate payroll and general ledger reconciliations
- Oversee seamless payroll integrations for acquired entities and develop new policies to support smooth transitions and compliance
- Generate and analyze comprehensive payroll reports, correspondence, and data summaries to support strategic decision-making
What You’ll Bring:
- You have 7 years of experience managing all aspects of payroll administration in a global organization
- You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent relevant work experience
- You have experience leading teams and driving results in fast-paced, growth-focused environments
- You can build strong relationships with employees and leaders at all levels, backed by exceptional executive presence, communication, and interpersonal skills
- You excel in problem-solving and conflict management while influencing without authority and upholding integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- You have exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage projects, backed by expertise in research, reporting, and analytics

- You hold a Certified Payroll Professional (CCP) Certification
- You have previous experience in the cannabis industry and are proficient in Wurk software
