Lower School (JK-4) Discovery Lab and STEM Teacher

Description

Currey Ingram Academy is currently accepting applications for a Discovery Lab and STEM Teacher to begin in August 2025. In this role, the teacher will provide hands-on, STEM learning experiences weekly to students in Junior Kindergarten through fourth grade. These responsibilities will include developing and implementing an engaging, inquiry-based curriculum, integrating the scientific method, technology, robotics, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality. Additional teaching responsibilities may include providing small-group math instruction to students with diverse learning profiles. Additionally, this individual may provide professional development for and collaborate with classroom teachers on methods for enhancing instruction with problem-based learning and supplementing instruction with inquiry and STEM-based learning activities.

Excellent communication skills in both oral and written expression, as well as experience with educational technology and hands-on learning, are required. Minimum requirements include a degree in education, special education, STEM, instructional technology, or a related field, with preference given to those with experience in teaching in a STEM program and / or teaching students with learning differences.
