We are seeking self-motivated and responsive individuals with a passion for data to join our dynamic team. As a key contributor, you will work collaboratively with statistical analysts, business analysts, and data engineers throughout the project lifecycle. This hands-on role involves data extraction, feature engineering, model design and development, and more to create impactful, value-adding solutions that address real business challenges.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business teams to identify critical questions and develop data-driven solutions to address them.
- Document data sources, methodologies, and analyses thoroughly for ongoing reference and improvement.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design new data provisioning pipelines for Finance/External Reporting domains.
- Apply advanced statistical methodologies (e.g., regression, statistical tests, properties of distributions) appropriately to business challenges.
- Develop end-to-end Natural Language Processing (NLP) methodologies, including sentiment analysis, text classification, and topic modeling.
- Employ advanced data mining and modeling techniques (e.g., GLM/Regression, K-Means Clustering, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Naive Bayes, NLP, AI, Social Network Analysis) and assess their suitability for various business problems.
- Proactively dig deeper into stakeholders' requests to understand the bigger picture and capture insights that drive business value.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. A graduate degree in a quantitative field is highly preferred.
- 4 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or data science roles.
- 1 years of experience in Natural Language Processing methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Spark ML, and SQL; exposure to R and SAS is a plus.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) is preferred.
- Enthusiastic and quick to learn, with a solid mathematical foundation and a passion for coding.
- Experience in applying statistics and machine learning to solve complex business challenges.
- Financial services experience is a plus but not required.
