Position Overview
The Accountant (Debits/Credits) will be responsible for managing the financial transactions of the organization, ensuring accurate recording of debits and credits, and maintaining compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, as well as experience in healthcare or hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Record debits and credits in the organization's general ledger
- Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and proper classification of transactions
- Conduct rollforward analysis of accounts to identify and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with GAAP standards in all financial transactions
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accountant
- Strong understanding of debits and credits and their impact on financial statements
- Experience with GAAP standards and general ledger maintenance
- Previous experience in healthcare or hospital settings is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- CPA certification is a plus
