The Director of Surveying is responsible for leading and managing surveying operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves overseeing surveying projects from conception to completion, managing a team of surveyors, and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage surveying projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct geospatial analysis and land use planning to support project objectives.
- Utilize GIS and CAD software for data visualization and project design.
- Oversee field surveys and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage client relationships and communicate project updates effectively.
- Conduct environmental assessments and data analysis to inform decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor surveying staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Surveyor license is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in surveying or related field, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of geospatial analysis, land use planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in GIS and CAD software applications.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client management.
