Sales Engineer

This exciting role will be in charge of supporting all of the fastener distribution and procurement responsibilities for the company. A solid understanding of the fastener space and the capability to be client-facing will be needed to be successful in this role. They are headquartered in the Marlborough, MA area. The company is a leading international distributor of commercial and military fasteners, and electronic & electro-mechanical components. Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day responsibilities will include interpreting fastener drawings, obtaining fastener standards and specifications, providing direction in proper inspection processes, and offering guidance to management, peers, suppliers, and customers on fastener specifications and performance.
• Understand and convey fastener design specifications and functional requirements to customers and your team as needed.
• Knowledge of fastener manufacturing processes. (Cold, heading, turning, stamping, plating, etc)
• Maintain current knowledge of various fastener standards (ASTM, SAE, ISO, DIN, Mil-Spec, etc)
• Review customer designs and company drawings as needed.
• Help resolve quality issues with customers and vendors/suppliers.
• Partaking in advanced product quality planning activities as needed, such as with new suppliers or new parts.
• Maintains strong knowledge of fastener measuring and test equipment and methods.
• Identify potential process improvements, able to prepare corrective action reports (CARs).
• Knowledgeable of customer-specific requirements related to REACH, RoHS, SVHC, conflict minerals, etc.
• Able to travel to customers and suppliers as needed, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering is preferred.
• 5 years of experience in the fastener space is preferred.
• Experience in customer service or customer-facing roles is required.
• Strong knowledge of fastener manufacturing methods, including plating & finishing processes
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 quality system environment.
• Experience with root cause analysis and preparation of corrective action reports (CARs).

Salary Range:

• $75,000-100,000 depending on experience.

Travel Requirements:

• 20% International and 40% domestic.
