We are searching for an Insurance Collection Specialist who is ready to continue to help develop and grow our business!
Responsibilities:
- Reviews denials on an explanation of benefits (EOB) statement or in Raintree and works on issues until resolved.
- Logs on to insurance website/portal (if available) to investigate insurance denials and rejections.
- Submit appeals via mail, fax, online portal
- Submits any required documentation to insurance companies as requested
- Researches the claims for information to process bills in a timely manner
- Communicate directly with insurance companies, adjustors, and patients on a regular basis
- Corrects any errors and resubmits all unprocessed or returned claims to insurance companies
- Answers incoming calls to the billing department on scheduled days
- Escalates issues to supervisor
- Maintains the highest level of privacy in accordance with HIPAA requirements and laws.

Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience required performing medical billing.
- Strong technical knowledge in one or more areas of commercial insurance, government insurance, workman’s compensation, motor vehicle liability, general liability, and claims processing systems.
- Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
- Knowledge of coordination of benefits.
- Ability to speak confidently over the phone
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to provide quality customer service to all parties.
- Demonstrated knowledge of state laws and insurance statutes.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to work well individually, as well as part of a team.
- Coachable: receptive to feedback, willing to learn, embraces continuous improvement, and responsive to change.
