HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
The Process Development Associate II conducts laboratory experiments in a productive manner with consistent quality and timely outputs, under minimal supervision. In addition, works closely with other colleagues to ensure smooth progression of projects. May provide guidance to assist other colleagues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stays current with all training requirements.
- Follows procedures reliably and consistently.
- Sets up experiments, monitors, and acquires analytical data.
- Keeps detailed, accurate and clearly written records in accordance with GDPs.
- Establishes good working relationships with peers and other colleagues.
- Displays a positive attitude and good change readiness.
- Independently supports good lab hygiene.
- Recognizes and troubleshoots outcomes that are not aligned with expectations and understands how the deliverables for their work and how they fit into the overall project goals.
- Works in less structured problem-solving situations with some uncertainty of successful technical outcome.
- Increasingly relies on own experience and knowledge as well as that of others for scientific judgment in the work situation.
- Contributes to achievement of immediate client goals.

Job Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, microbiology, biology, chemistry or chemical engineering.- A master’s degree in relevant discipline is desirable.
- 2-4 years of prior research experience- industry preferred- involving one or more of the following technical areas; recombinant protein expression, buffer and media design and preparation, fed-batch fermentation, animal cell culture, microbiology, protein purification, bioanalytical characterization of proteins.
- A strong foundation in general scientific practices and concepts gained with prior, relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of buffer and media preparation, aseptic technique and how to apply analytical test methods to process development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals consistent with a lab environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
