Position:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our Americas team.
Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Oversee all accounting and financial tasks for CZ entities in the Americas
- Manage two employees in the US and two employees overseas
- Overall responsibility for reporting to Head Office including:
- Preparation of the month end submission
- Annual budget
- Tax reporting
- Additional reporting at year end for the group financial statements
- Resolution of regular ad hoc issues faced by a multi-national organisation:
- Liaising with accountants in other regions
- Liaising with other areas of the company including front office, operations, and trade finance to resolve problems.
- Ensure compliance with all local reporting and fiscal requirements:
- Lead during the annual audit and financial statements preparation process
- Liaise with external tax team to ensure all local, state and federal tax requirements are met
- Involvement in the accounts payable process.
- Understand the key business drivers within the region alongside identifying any associated risks
- Involvement in setting up new legal entities in the region
- Contribution to maintenance of full trial balance of a dynamic trading entity.
- System and control oversight and improvement.
- To take responsibility for your performance and to work together to achieve our organizational goals.
- To attend training courses which are identified as being necessary for the performance of the role.
- To be fully conversant with the Employee Handbook and supporting policies, including Health & Safety legislation and fire and emergency procedures.
- To comply with any reasonable instruction issued by your manager.
We are looking for someone with the following skillset and attributes:
Essential:
- CPA trained with 5-10 years PQE
- Business level fluency in English and Spanish
- Experience within the commodities industry
- Ability to form relationships within finance team, net revenue team and wider office to ensure positive collaborative working environment
- Experience of managing junior members of staff
- Experience of IFRS and US GAAP
- Ability to assess and develop our processes and to automate and systemise as much as possible.
- Advanced communication skills
- Strong I.T. skills including proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and Word
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Self-starter with the ability to use initiative for problem solving
- Resourceful, innovative and proactive
- Personable with the ability to build relationships and communicate with all levels both internally and externally
- SUN Systems accounting software and Infor Q&A / Vision.
- Previous exposure to multi-currency entities.
