Job Title: Nurse Practitioner Intern
Department : Medical Services
Reports To: Nurse Practitioner
Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensed to practice as a Nurse in the State of Michigan. Enrolled in a college/University psychiatric certification program. Comprehensive knowledge and well-developed skills in pharmacology and treatment of mental illness. Extensive knowledge of the etiology of serious mental illness, intellectual disabilities, developmental, and substance abuse disorders and their treatment by a variety of appropriate therapeutic interventions including psychopharmacology; nursing practice and medical evaluation, physical diseases, and their treatment; community resources and networking techniques; and of psychiatric and medical emergency stabilization. Valid driver’s license Ability to work with people of various cultures both within and outside the Agency and able to promote a positive image for the Agency in the community and in relationship with other agencies and their personnel.
