What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician 2 position at DAIKIN COMFORT TECHNOLOGIES MFG LP?
Responsibilities may include;
- Repair, maintain, and rebuild all production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Coordinate maintenance processes with the production department in a way in which the production output and packaging is least affected.
- Respond to calls from production and management to make repairs.
- Perform established preventative maintenance programs.
- Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation.
- Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects.
- Maintain accurate and complete departmental records.
- Record all work in Fiix CMMS
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints / schematics.
- Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain good 6S housekeeping standards.
- Work with contractors as needed.
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

- Works under direct supervision and follows written/verbal instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Independently performs assignments after given general instructions as to results expected.
- Resolves routine questions and problems, coordinates complex issues to others.
- Demonstrates an awareness of the relative urgency of tasks and responds accordingly.
Knowledge and Skills
- Safe work habits, following proper LOTO and other OSHA requirements.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Must have own maintenance tools, including 480 volt and 3 phase electric voltmeter, and able to use.
- Able to effectively and efficiently use various maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to work with electrical circuits including 24 volt controls, 120-240 volt, single and three phase service.
- Capable of using programmable logic controllers to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
- Must be able to read and understand written and verbal policy, instruction and directions in English.
- Basic ability to use Windows based computer systems.
- Ability to perform alignment of belts, chains and shafts
- Ability to replace bearings and leadscrews
- Able to use a variety of hand and power tools
- Read and comply with work orders
- Ability to Diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic issues and complete repairs
- Ability to Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment
- Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience
- Ability to Monitor, identify, and correct signs of malfunctions.
- Ability to read an electrical schematic
- Knowledge on how to use a megger
- Ability to Change and program new drives
- Repair and test motors, starters, PLC’s and controls
- Ability to Perform minor electrical repairs
- Able to Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures
- Able to program and fix faults utilizing a laptop
- Able to troubleshoot, find, and correct issues
- Good working knowledge of Siemens PLC systems
- Able to PM equipment in assigned area
- Ability to review and improve current PM processes
- Able to lead a kaizen project for
- Able to lead a die improvement kaizen
- Able to Assist and guide LOTO procedures
- Ability to drive a forklift
- Able to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in:
- Industrial maintenance
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches and electric motors.
- PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens and Direct Logic.
- Industrial welding: repair as well as fabrication, M.I.G., T.I.G.
Education
- High school diploma or GED Equivalent
- Associate's degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school, any certifications are a plus, preferred
