POSITION OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION:

Dakota Matting & Environmental Solutions is in a phase of growth and transformation. We are seeking a versatile, relationship-driven HR Generalist to help build, enhance, and streamline our HR operations as we expand our footprint nationally. This is not a traditional HR role—we are forward thinking and presenting an opportunity where you will play a key role in HR & Talent operations, compliance, employee & workplace experience, and payroll. This full-time, onsite opportunity is based at our Headquarters in Coral Springs, FL, reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HR & Talent Operations

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding to ensure an outstanding candidate and employee experience.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Oversee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and final documentation.
  • Administer benefits enrollment, claims resolution, and employee inquiries.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and employee relations matters, fostering a positive work environment.


Payroll & Compliance

  • Process and manage payroll weekly using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Address payroll inquiries and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with union agreements, multi-state payroll regulations, and tax laws.
  • Collaborate with finance and HR leadership to streamline payroll workflows and improve automation.

Employee Experience & Workplace Operations

  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring a well-organized, efficient, and productive work environment.
  • Manage office vendors, supplies, and facilities coordination to support a seamless employee experience.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees, ensuring a welcoming and well-supported workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist experience, including payroll within HRIS
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, compliance requirements, and payroll regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address payroll discrepancies, resolve employee inquiries, and navigate HR-related matters.
  • Clear and effective communication skills to explain HR policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with employees and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS tools.
  • Experience in a construction, field services, or unionized workforce environment.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification.
  • Experience working in multi-state payroll environments with union considerations.
