Are you ready to lead by example, act as a role model, motivate and inspire others as we create and enable the next generation of off-highway and industrial machines? Then you might be our new Director of Engineering, Solutions NAM in Danfoss Power Solutions Segment.

In this role, you will lead the Solutions team, North America based in either Ames, IA or Eden Prairie, MN to deliver innovative solutions and solve next generation customer challenges enabling the achievement of Danfoss Power Solutions profitable growth. The team will focus on technology and product development for decarbonization, electrification, autonomous, and advanced productivity solutions.

You will drive a change towards a new way of working and create a growth culture in the organization. You will lead a group of 15 Engineers becoming best-in-class in securing customer focused innovative thinking by establishing the right inspiration and cooperation methods.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Develop, deploy, and execute team strategy, including making priority decisions. Ensure that Danfoss is prepared for key industry transitions and remains the preferred customer partner for technology leadership.

• Act as the face of the Solutions team for North America region. Target audiences include customers, distributors, external partners, educational institutions, and internal business associates. Develop and execute a strategy for partnering with external entities including Customers and Universities to leverage external funding opportunities and talent pipeline development.

• Train, develop and motivate subordinates and their skills to achieve professional goals and accomplishments. Provide on-going feedback on personnel performance and review performance to established goals.

• Ensure a continuous improvement mindset within the team while developing and maintaining group performance measures (KPI), budget, and work direction. Keep standard operating procedures and process relevant and up to date to ensure delivery per applicable Standards.

Background & Skills

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology field or equivalent
• 10 years work experience in a product engineering field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years in manager of people role
• MS in technical field or MBA
• History of building strategic plans and driving investment
• Experience with systems engineering, mechatronics, embedded controls, and/or mobile equipment design in a global manufacturing company with multi-national Research, Development, and Engineering teams.
