What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Administrator position at Darden Architects?
Darden Architects is seeking an experienced individual to join our staff and provide Construction Administration services.
Job activities include:
- Visiting the construction site during construction, to maintain familiarity with the progress and quality of the work, and to determine, if the work observed is being performed accordance with the Contract Documents.
- Review and process Submittals, Shop Drawings, Change Order Requests and respond to Requests for Information.
- Maintain a record of all correspondence and all changes in the Work.
- Assist in authority having jurisdiction review and approval when required and manage project certification and closeout.
- Construction Administrator shall work with the Design Team to interpret and decide matters concerning performance under, and requirements of, the Contract Documents.
- Construction Administrator shall work with the Project Architect to render initial decisions on all construction related issues or claims.
- Review and certify the payment amounts due the Contractor and issue certificates in such amounts to the Owner.
- Conduct final review and observations to determine the date of Substantial Completion.
Desired skills and experience:
- 3 years construction experience required.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents, plans, and specifications required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- DSA, OSHPD or HCAi experience preferred
- California Architectural license preferred.
- Experience with the building information modeling (BIM) software REVIT is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of Bluebeam software preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft software (Word/Excel/Access) is preferred.
- Capable of conducting ‘document reviews’ for the purposes of coordinating the drawings and specifications before they go out to bid, and for constructability.
- The ability to review and analyze construction schedules
