The Opportunity
DAT is looking for a Billing Team Lead to join our Finance team in Beaverton, OR.
The Billing Team Lead, working in a customer-facing organization, leads and directs a team of Billing Collection Specialists who provide service and support to our Standard level DAT Solutions customers. This is accomplished by providing leadership, mentoring and training to the Collection Specialists.
This position is required to assist the Billing Services Management team by serving as an operational quality assurance checkpoint. The Team Lead will ensure that all team members are productive and effective. Leads are responsible for the day-to-day operation of their direct team with cursory responsibilities for other teams within the Billing Services organization. This includes observing acceptable use of DAT Solutions systems and adherence to both the department’s and DAT solutions recognized processes, policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do
- Research escalated billing related issues and take appropriate action to ensure accurate and timely resolution for the customer. Complete cases received from other business teams in the Billing Management Group queue.
- Research escalations for misapplied payments working closely with the Billing Accounts Receivable Team.
- Prepare various reports to assist the Billing Management in decision making.
- Work with Billing Management to ensure all daily management level reports are completed. Responsible for maintaining accurate tracking and documentation; specifically performance monitoring, call tracking management, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensures billing procedures are properly documented and that complex issues result in revised documentation.
- Provides weekly updates to Billing Management including all special projects, open critical issues and personnel issues.
- Works with Billing Management to foster and create a high engagement and moral level with the Billing Team as well as internal collaborators.
- Works with Billing Management to ensure all Billing accruals, credits and debits are completed prior to the close of each month/quarter/year.
- Maintains a high level of product knowledge in relation to billing functionality and keeps all members of the Collections team up to date on product releases and new features/functionality.
- Verifies and reports system issues to NOC and BIlling Management providing early warning problem detection on issues that impact our customer base.
- Proactively works with Billing Management in the development of training programs, processes and procedures that improve the quality of DAT Solutions Billing service.
- Establishes and maintains effective and productive working relationships across departments within DAT to support effective service to customers and ensure proper routing of calls.
- Provides backup support to Billing Manager when needed.
- 1-2 years experience in a call-center billing department, working with credit & collection procedures.
- Prior experience with SalesForce CRM, MS Office, and Google Workspace.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
