DataX Connect are partnered with a global real estate company who are dedicated to making an impactful difference to the mission critical sector.

This opportunity will be based out of Chicago, Illinois.

Due to growth and further investments to the business, they are looking to hire an experienced Commissioning Director to take lead on multiple large data center builds.

The position

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex commissioning projects across various sectors, working with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record, possess strong leadership skills, and excel at problem-solving and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ensure adherence to commissioning processes and best practices unique to the data center mission critical environment.
• Within the team, maintain accurate and updated documentation processes throughout the commissioning process, including project plans, progress reports, change orders, and final commissioning reports.
• In a player / coach capacity, manage a team of commissioning project managers while also serving as the main point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants on your own projects.
• Implement quality assurance processes at scale to monitor and review project performance, focusing on adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, industry regulations, and environmental standards.
• Contribute to the growth of the commissioning service by participating in RFPs, pitches, etc.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices related to commissioning and project management.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute innovative ideas to enhance project delivery and streamline commissioning processes.
