Provincial Director, Information Technology

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Provincial Director of Information Technology provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives. This position directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems to support business operations to improve cost-effectiveness, service quality, and business development. This individual is responsible for all aspects of the organization's information technology and systems.
The Provincial Director of Information Technology maintains accountability to Daughters of Charity Ministries, Inc. (DCM) to deliver, implement, secure, and direct technology initiatives for DCM. This position is responsible for ensuring all aspects of technology work effectively across the DCM organization. This position will help determine technology strategy and direct technical operational execution for the organization. This position will create and execute all IT service and strategic goals. This position reports to the Provincial Treasurer.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science/information technology and ten plus years of experience managing or directing an IT operation. Comfortable with desktop software and tools to automate and improve the delivery of technology services, related experience commensurate with ongoing coursework or accreditation considered, working knowledge and experience on all Windows operating systems, standard desktop software, firewall security, Anti-Virus Software, internet connectivity, spam filters, infrastructure, and technology are required, understanding of technology and how it reflects operations and change management, project management skills for deployment across multiple locations and infrastructures. Program management experience required, preferably with extensive projects (budgets >$1 million).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead cost efficient technology strategy and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems
- Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development
- Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments
- Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets
- Communicate and keep DCM leaders informed about technology changes, challenges and operational issues effecting the business
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IT spending and initiatives
- Direct development and execution of enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations
- Define and communicate corporate plans, policies, and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems
- Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring IT systems performance
- Supervise all IT staff recruitment, development, retention, goal setting and organization following corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies
- Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio related to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems
- Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale
- Establish lines of control for current and proposed information systems
- Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including government, vendors, and partner organizations
- Promote a strong, positive, collaborative team orientation between the IT Team and the rest of the organization.
- Ensure a secure infrastructure environment for all of DCM/DOC.
OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Works collaboratively with Daughters of Charity leadership on all levels. Coaches and educates Daughters of Charity management regarding technology issues
- Define requirements for Daughters of Charity technology projects, including the development of the business case, RFP/RFI process and project charter, and validation of project plans, including resource utilization, estimates, and schedules
- Define escalation paths and serves as an intermediary between Daughters of Charity and vendors
- Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.
- Maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business
- Promotes, exemplifies and supports the values of service to persons who are poor and the mission and values of the Daughters of Charity
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
This position requires excellent communication skills, interpersonal and negotiating skills. The successful candidate has proven leadership and presentation skills and can present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language. In addition, the position requires an understanding of project approaches, life cycles, phases, techniques, and tools. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and sound judgment when customizing projects to meet needs and exhibit a solid understanding of complex project work and deliverables. Program management experience required, preferably with extensive projects (budgets >$1 million).

Salary : $175,000 - $190,000
