EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Director, Operational Accounting provides leadership for the College’s accounting functions including accounts payable and purchasing. This position reports to the Associate Vice-President, Financial & Administrative Services and has the following responsibilities: Monitors state, county, and institutional budgets.Maintains and monitors the general ledger.Maintains various financial data spreadsheets.Provides financial analysis to support planning and decision-making.Provides support for the annual financial statements and various audits (financial, FTE, grant, federal, state, etc.).Monitors internal controls and procedures.Consults with divisions regarding state, county, and institutional budgets.Maintains the Colleague system and trains others in its usage as well as maintains general ledger security access.Performs month-end general ledger procedures.Assists with preparation of year-end financial statements and assists auditors with the annual audit.Supervises Business Office staff in accounting including Purchasing and Accounts Payable.Serves as College P-Card Administrator.Attends College and Division meetings and events.Promotes College mission, values, and vision. Performs other duties as assigned that support the purpose and initiatives of the College.

ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the office setting and other areas of campus; effective use of all forms of communication; and the ability to perform general office duties, including use of the computer.
