What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMPLOYEE ATTENDANCE SECRETARY position at Davison Community Schools?
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word word processing program and be able to work with Microsoft Office & Google software packages.
- Experience with Schools Open Software (HRS) and Synergy student information system preferred.
- Must be proficient at using the Internet as a resource.
- Must be self-directed in organizing and accomplishing office work priorities.
- Ability to independently compose letters and documents as required.
- Must maintain confidentiality regarding staff files as well as student, staff, and community matters.
- Able to get along well with a wide variety of people.
- A minimum of five (5) years of successful secretarial experience in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to be tactful, pleasant, and courteous at all times and capable of handling difficult situations that arise in a calm and professional manner.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Must be dependable and have excellent attendance.
- Demonstrate evidence of initiative and flexibility in performing job responsibilities.
- Must be neat and well groomed.
- Demonstrate mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position.
- Coordinate substitute teachers and custodians utilizing Red Rover software.
- Reconcile EduStaff statements.
- Enter and file attendance requests/reports for certified and non-certified personnel.
- Set up district attendance accruals.
- Prepare end-of-year payout reports for qualifying staff members.
- Enter, maintain and file professional development information for certified staff.
- Provide teachers with up-to-date professional development reports.
- Prepare report for payment of teacher professional development hours.
- Prepare payroll for contracted and substitute custodians.
- Maintain and handle sick bank requests.
- Process FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) requests.
- Operate desktop intercom for visitor entry.
- Handle telephone calls and/or drop-in visits from upset staff or community members with tact and composure so as to diffuse the situation and calm the individual(s).
- Maintain familiarity with the district's functions, policies, and regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
