Embroidery & Sewing Machine Operator

We are a small retail family business looking for a full time employee. We are located near Savanna Club Blvd and US1. We have a wide range of products and services offered and have been in business for over 38 years in Port St. Lucie.

You will be taught how to operate both embroidery machines and sewing machines and how to use their software. Training is very hands on and takes a few months to complete. We would like someone with a basic knowledge of what machine embroidery is, and prefer someone with experience in the field.

This position is a floating position. You will be both using a sewing machine to sew patches and hem pants in addition to using our embroidery machines to embroider logos as needed. 3 days in our sewing machine department and 2 in our embroidery department.

Requirements

• Must have at least basic computer user skills, checking email, searching web, invoicing
• Teamwork.
• Friendly, able to follow directions, requires superior hand/eye coordination and attention to detail, good communication and listening skills
• Able to work in a fast paced work environment and multi task when needed.
• Clean appearance and a reliable mode of transportation
• Able to walk, bend, push, pull and lift up to 45 lbs, as well as work in a standing position for extended periods of time, 6 -7 hours daily
• Accuracy is required in performing all functions of the positions within established standards; errors in work could cause delays in schedules and result in loss of revenue.
• This position requires the individual to be ready to start work on–time daily.

• Noise level in the work environment is usually Moderate-high. When in use embroidery machines are loud and constant.

• Must be able to maintain speed and efficiency with little supervision.

Job entails

• Work with coworkers to facilitate new logo development and confirming all details such as size, colors and placement on garment.
• Assisting customers with creation/changes of logos
• Sewing patches on shirts and hemming pants to requirements requested.
• Having a basic knowledge of accounts and set ups.
• Trouble shoot small machine problems.
• Hooping garments and centering logos.
• Trim garment and re-hang or fold garment.
• Our business hours are M-F 9:30-6:00 as needed. Saturdays are a must.

60-day probation period.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
