What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machining - 1st Shift - L4 position at Dayton-Phoenix Group, Inc.?
Department 129 has an opening for a CNC Machining Operator. This job will consist of setting up and running various types of fan hubs, bearing housings, etc. Prior CNC machining experience and knowledge is required.
Essential qualifications for this position include:
Candidates must demonstrate during the trial period, the ability to perform the above listed responsibilities while producing quality parts, to print, at the routed rate and in a safe manner while maintaining accuracy of counts, and part numbers. The progress of any candidates selected for this posting shall be evaluated during the trial period to assure that the job requirements are being met.
Essential qualifications for this position include:
- Must have experience with CNC machining centers
- Must understand and be able to use machining part prints
- Mechanical background a must
- Must demonstrate the use of all types of gages (stick mics, Vernier calipers, depth mics, dial bore, etc.)
- Able to use hand tools and grinders for deburring parts
- Must have math skills for decimals and fractions
- Must be able to line up parts using dial indicators, chucks and/or fixtures
- Must know when and how to change inserts
- Must be able to read set up sheets and demonstrate the ability to perform setups
- Must be able to lift and load into machines up to 40lb castings
- Able to use overhead power cranes
- Must be able to make offset adjustments to compensate for tool wear
