Company Overview:
We are a fast-paced and growing commercial real estate investment firm managing a diverse portfolio of retail, office and industrial properties. We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Bookkeeper to oversee financial operations across multiple entities and properties.
Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper will manage the full cycle of accounting for various commercial properties and entities, including CAM charges and reconciliations, lease analysis, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly reporting. This role requires strong knowledge of real estate accounting principles and experience using industry-specific software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple commercial real estate entities
- Review and interpret commercial leases to ensure proper billing of rent and recoverable expenses
- Calculate and reconcile CAM (Common Area Maintenance), tax, and insurance charges annually
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, rent collections, and tenant ledger management
- Process and code invoices accurately in accordance with lease terms and property budgets
- Maintain accurate general ledgers, bank reconciliations, and financial reports
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Track intercompany expenses and allocate shared costs appropriately
- Collaborate with property managers, ownership, and external accountants
- Utilize real estate accounting software
Qualifications:
- 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in commercial real estate
- Strong understanding of CAM charges and reconciliations
- Familiarity with reviewing and interpreting commercial leases
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
