Fleet Mechanic - Saint Francis Hospital

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: St. Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is looking for a Fleet Mechanic to join our team! The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of our fleet of emergency vehicles. This role requires expertise in automotive mechanics, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring our vehicles are in optimal condition for emergency response. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on emergency medical vehicles, including ambulances and support vehicles. Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other vehicle components. Coordinate with vendors to complete complex repairs and body work that cannot be complete onsite. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on fleet vehicles. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards related to vehicle operations and maintenance. Collaborate with the operations team to schedule repairs and minimize vehicle downtime. Conduct pre-trip inspections and assist with emergency repairs as needed. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automotive technology. Provide training and guidance to other staff on basic vehicle maintenance and safety protocols. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; along with additional technical training or certifications in automotive repair. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a certified mechanic, with a focus on emergency vehicles preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
