We're looking for a Manager of Benefits and Total Rewards to join our People Team! As the Manager of Benefits and Total Rewards, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things benefits-related. You’ll manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring that our offerings are competitive, comprehensive, and seamlessly integrated. The ideal candidate will have strong business and financial acumen and be accountable for leading a multi-million-dollar benefits budget. You'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional employee experience by providing clear communication and guidance around our benefits packages.
Responsibilities
- Benefits Strategy:
- Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to develop and implement benefits strategies that contribute to employee engagement, retention, and overall satisfaction.
- Evaluate efficiency and cost effectiveness of current programs, including 401(k) plan design and financial wellness to ensure the plans/programs balance the needs of both corporate and field team members.
- Identify inefficient processes and recommend changes as appropriate.
- Continuously assess our benefits offerings to ensure they remain competitive and align with employee needs. Recommend adjustments based on employee feedback, market trends, and organizational goals.
- Design wellness strategy and programs for all Team Members (corporate and field); track and measure progress and success of the program.
- Benefits Administration:
- Oversee the daily management of all employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other company perks.
- Manage resolution of administrative issues which may include coverage questions, appeals, claims disputes, participant eligibility, provider service, plan and contract documents.
- Partner with field to ensure compliant Leave of Absence Administration.
- Coordinate new hire benefits orientations, open enrollment periods, and ongoing employee communications about benefits offerings. Ensure employees are well-informed and understand their benefits choices.
- Partner with insurance providers, retirement plan administrators, and other vendors to ensure services are delivered smoothly, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Compliance: Ensure all benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, FMLA, ERISA). Prepare regular reports on benefits utilization and cost trends to senior leadership.
- Employee Support: Act as a friendly and knowledgeable point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries. Provide guidance and support when employees have questions or need assistance with claims, enrollment, or changes.
- Metrics & Reporting: Establish, monitor, and report KPIs to assess and communicate performance trends.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 years of experience in benefits administration or related HR roles
Preferred:
- Experience:
- Experience managing benefits for a mid-to-large size organization is a plus.
- Experience managing benefits for a multi-unit, multi-state organization is a plus.
- Experience working for an insurance broker is preferred.
- Knowledge:
- A strong understanding of benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), wellness programs, and leave policies.
- Familiarity with compliance regulations like ACA, FMLA, and ERISA.
- Communication Skills:
- Clear, concise, and Ability to engage and influence Senior-level executives and stakeholders.
- You’ll need to explain complex benefits information in a way that’s easy to understand for employees at all levels.
- Attention to Detail:
- Benefits administration requires precision. You’ll be handling sensitive data and ensuring accuracy in enrollment, deductions, and reporting.
- Problem-Solving:
- You’re great at troubleshooting and resolving benefits-related issues quickly and effectively, always keeping the employee experience in mind.
- Team Spirit:
- You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across HR and other departments, so being a team player with a positive, can-do attitude is key.
