POSITION SUMMARY:
The Client Executive (CE) plays a pivotal role in driving client retention and satisfaction by delivering tailored employee benefits solutions. This role requires exceptional consulting and negotiation skills, expertise in level-funded and self-funded plans, and a strategic approach to cross-selling additional services. The CE leads client engagements, ensures operational excellence, and serves as a senior resource for the Client Success team to foster a culture of client-first service delivery.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Client Retention & Engagement
- Build and nurture strong relationships with senior decision-makers within client organizations.
- Provide strategic guidance and customized solutions based on client goals and industry trends.
- Host regular client meetings to review claims, benchmark analyses, and stewardship reports.
- Proactively identify risks to client retention and implement mitigation strategies.
- Present renewal strategies and outcomes, ensuring alignment with client needs and timely delivery.
Retention & Cross-Selling
- Develop and execute strategies to expand services and products within an assigned client portfolio.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling based on client needs and market insights.
- Achieve/exceed retention and revenue growth targets.
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the seamless delivery of benefits programs, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a team lead for Client Engagement Managers, providing guidance on complex renewals and strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely implementation of benefit selections.
Consulting & Market Expertise
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of level-funded, self-funded, and alternative health plan solutions, including captives and PBMs.
- Stay current on industry regulations and trends to offer innovative, compliant solutions.
- Utilize analytics and benchmarking tools to enhance client offerings and decision-making.
Team Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional efforts to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and deliver outstanding client experiences.
- Mentor and support team members to drive client satisfaction and operational excellence.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION, SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 10 years in employee benefits, with at least 5 years in a senior account management or consulting role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
- State Life and Health Insurance License required.
- CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) or other benefits industry designation preferred.
- Proven experience with level-funded and self-funded plans, health plan captives, and PBM solutions.
- Strong consulting, negotiation, and communication abilities with a track record of retaining and growing client relationships.
- Advanced knowledge of navigating the internet as well as various Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
