DecisionPoint is seeking a Shipping Specialist to join our team in Atlanta providing On-demand operational, technical, and scientific subject matter expertise support that addresses response-related requirements enabling CDC to rapidly expand its capacity to respond to public health emergencies.
The Division of Emergency Operations (DEO), with support of the Office of Readiness and Response (ORR), is actively working to enhance and augment CDC's approach to preparedness and response for Public Health Emergencies which supports the development and implementation of the CDCReady Responder Program.
This is 100% onsite position.
Duties & Responsibilities
Contractor shall assist with coordinating emergency shipments in support of a response.
Contractor must have a valid GA state HAZMAT certification (certification only required for specific responses).
Dissemination inventory to state and local regions, and internationally.
Process outgoing and incoming FedEx, UPS and other deliveries.
Qualifications
Associate Degree.
GA state HAZMAT certification.
1 Year of work experience
Public Trust Clearance.
Experience required with shipping materials, along with GA state HAZMAT certification. Logistical experience - supply room / inventory management and emergency management resource support / logistical experience preferred.
This is a 100% in person position. Telework will not be authorized.
Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Mail)
Ability to effectively communicate needs at all briefings to assist with operational strategy.
Ability to identify gaps in existing resources.
Ability to multitask in emergency situations.
Ability to be flexible with a strong sense of urgency.
Interpersonal communication : telephone, email, and business etiquette.
Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills.
