We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our production warehouse.
Description:
This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively coordinate between project managers and the production crew, ensuring smooth operations and the successful execution of all warehouse tasks. You will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring that the warehouse operates efficiently, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management: Lead, motivate, and manage production crew to ensure high performance within the warehouse. Address staffing issues as necessary and maintain a positive work environment.
- Staff Scheduling: Plan and schedule staff shifts based on business needs and workload to ensure optimal coverage.
- Training & Development: Coordinate training sessions for new hires and ensure ongoing skill development for staff through regular training and development initiatives.
- Operations Oversight: Enforce warehouse policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Timekeeping: Oversee timekeeping systems, approve employee time sheets, and manage time-off requests.
- Custom Design Oversight: Collaborate with the Fabrication Manager to assign and track custom design tasks to ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects.
- Project Coordination: Act as the primary communication bridge between project managers, site leads, and the production crew to ensure smooth project execution.
- Inventory Management: Review event proposals and ensure all necessary items are available, suggesting substitutions when necessary based on inventory levels.
- Production Meetings: Attend and actively contribute to weekly production meetings, providing operational updates and insights.
- Performance Reviews: Participate in employee performance reviews, offering feedback, guidance, and support for career development.
- On-Site Set/Strike Oversight: Be present on-site for set-up and strike events as needed, overseeing the team to ensure efficient execution of tasks, quality control, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in warehouse management, operations, or similar roles, ideally within a production or event-based setting.
- Leadership: Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team motivation, staff development, and creating a positive work environment.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Inventory & Operations Knowledge: Experience with inventory management, production scheduling, and warehouse operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with timekeeping systems, performance review processes, and general warehouse management tools.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate operational challenges.
