Overview:
Following policies set forth by the Company, direct the overall operation of the cultivation department by maximizing productivity through the utilization of advanced technological resources, scheduling and delegating daily staff responsibilities, improving operational efficiencies, strategic decision making, analyzing and reporting on crop performance data, utilizing the full capabilities of the installed fertigation system, monitoring and adjusting light-levels, maintaining an ideal growing environment, implementing a detailed IPM program, yield forecasting, staffing, and maintaining accurate plant inventories.
Essential Functions:

Provide a leadership presence across all facets of the cultivation department with a focus on maximizing productivity through the use of advanced technological cultivation resources to ensure that cannabis plant growth benchmarks are achieved

Schedule, delegate, and monitor everyday cultivation staff responsibilities including but not limited to; supply acquisition, weekly harvests, plant training/pruning, transportation of growing media (soil/coco), transplanting into new vessels, sanitization of cultivation rooms and surrounding areas, propagation, equipment maintenance, decontamination of materials, pesticide application, and all matters related to compliance of State and Federal regulations

Maintain a strong focus on improving operational efficiencies of cultivation department through strategic decision making, planning, and process design

Employ state of the art technological resources to implement data capturing, and develop advanced cultivation methods to meet department, Company, and market demands

Maintain accurate and detailed digital records of all daily crop management activity, runoff analysis, soil pH & moisture checks, and eyes-on visual inspections performed in cultivation areas

Monitor canopy par & ppfd levels and execute real-time adjustment decisions to ensure that all cannabis plants are receiving sufficient light levels to produce high-yielding, high quality cannabis flowers

Analyze crop performance data and report on the status of department facilities in order to recommend operational improvements

Utilize the full capabilities of a complex fertigation system and its associated components to monitor & maintain appropriate environmental control set-points and deliver catered fertilization recipes

Assist in the maintenance of accurate digital and physical plant inventory counts

Develop, implement, monitor, and track a detailed IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Program to mitigate crop risks and combat the introduction or presence of molds, yeasts, fungus, pests, and other potential issues

Assist in the generation of production yield forecasting models
-
Ensure that all employees in the cultivation area are operating in compliance with all Nevada laws, rules and regulations related to the cultivation and control of cannabis

Full Profit & Loss responsibilities for the cultivation department: grow, dry, trim, cure and packaging department

Assist in the development of departmental budgets and manage finances that maximize yields and quality while minimizing costs

Responsible for employee scheduling and training

Participate in the interviewing, hiring, and firing of the Deep Roots Harvest cultivation employees
-
Display comprehensive knowledge of employment law

Monitor and advise executive team on industry trends pertaining to cannabis cultivation equipment & technology

Maintain and develop sustainability objectives focused on limiting environmental impact to the surrounding community

Additional Functions:

Familitary with climate control systems. Argus and Link 4 system experience preferred.

Familiarity with fertigation equipment and systems. Drip irrigation, dosatron, and Argus experience preferred

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

Must pass any and all required background checks

Must have a medical evaluation and respirator fit test performed upon commencing employment

Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
Minimum Education and Experience:
-
Previous commercial cultivation/management experience preferred
-
Degree in plant and environmental sciences preferred
Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting and repetitive motions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to elevated levels of C02 in cannabis grow rooms

The cultivation environment is a tropical climate where molds and fungus may be found on surfaces periodically
-
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 60 pounds (100 pounds with assistance)

Must be able to tolerate dusty, strong smelling marijuana odors, bright lighting conditions, and be able to tolerate exposure to the product.
