What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Deerwood Bank?
Deerwood Bank, a growing, community bank with 14 locations in Minnesota is seeking a skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices and be knowledgeable about various HR systems and tools.
This position can work in any Deerwood Bank location and it has the ability to have a hybrid work arrangement.
About the Position
This position will truly be a generalist with duties ranging from payroll, talent acquisition, benefits, leave management, HRIS management, and some administrative tasks. The following is a list of the responsibilities.
Payroll Processing (weekly and bi-weekly payrolls)
1. Complete the pre-processing work for payroll (i.e., verifying approvals of timecards, benefits, wages, taxes, garnishments/levies, direct deposits, etc., entering commissions/incentives, running reports).
2. Complete the post-processing work for payroll (i.e., send reports, upload data to vendor sites)
Talent Acquisition Administration
1. Develop and maintain the talent acquisition process for all positions.
2. Act as the repository for the Employee Requisition form.
3. Post openings in HRIS and Indeed.com as wells as provide information to the Marketing department for other posting locations.
4. Assist in the review of applications/resumes for open positions, as needed.
5. Perform phone screen/interviews for candidates, as needed.
6. Prepare offer letters for candidates based on the information in the Job Offer Details form.
7. Coordinate online onboarding with candidates.
8. Send employees their welcome gift to the appropriate branch.
Leave of Absence Management
1. Coordinate leave of absences with employees and managers.
2. Prepare the required leave of absence paperwork, if necessary.
3. Ensure time off requests are entered accurately in HRIS.
4. Track time off and communicate with employees on LOA, as required.
HRIS Administration
1. Scan and import employee files/records into HRIS.
2. Follow-up on requests for missing documents (i.e., onboarding, annual policy reviews, performance appraisals, etc.)
3. Update information as necessary (i.e., next review dates, job descriptions, etc.)
4. Respond appropriately to agencies requesting verification of employment.
Miscellaneous
1. Assist with the administration of the benefits program. Serve as main contact for employee questions on benefit enrollment issues.
2. Benefit invoice reconciliation, as needed.
3. Update and maintain job descriptions.
4. Maintain HR SharePoint page including birthday and anniversaries listings.
5. Prepare information for regulatory and audit requests, as needed.
6. File government reports (i.e., EEO-1, Vets 100, Affirmative Action Plan)
7. Update Opensense with employee names, titles, addresses, phone numbers for email signatures.
8. Interpret policies and procedures for new and existing employees.
9. Update and maintain procedures for HR department responsibilities.
10. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
About You
You will have 2-3 years of HR and payroll processing experience; significant payroll processing with Paycom (required) as well as experience using Paycom's other modules; knowledge and understanding Federal, State, and local laws pertaining to employment situations, ability to collaborate with others using your strong verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams
