Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. This role is essential in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records, including debits and credits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data and analysis.
- Manage corporate accounting tasks, including general ledger accounting and preparation of financial statements.
- Utilize accounting software such as Quickbooks for tracking expenses, income, and other financial transactions.
- Conduct technical accounting tasks as required, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
- Support governmental accounting practices when applicable, ensuring compliance with public sector requirements.
- Prepare tax documents and assist with public accounting responsibilities as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of debits, credits, bank reconciliation, budgeting, and general ledger accounting principles.
- Familiarity with Quicken or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices is essential; experience in governmental or public accounting will be considered an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
