Primary Function: The Marketing and Communications Manager plays a key role in shaping and executing DeLaSalle High School’s communications strategy. This position is responsible for promoting, enhancing, and safeguarding the school’s public image, with a particular focus on digital media, content creation, and strategic messaging. The individual will collaborate with school leadership to increase visibility, support enrollment efforts, and engage with key stakeholder audiences.

Representative Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communications Planning:Collaborate with the President and Executive Director of Advancement to develop and implement a comprehensive, integrated communications plan to increase awareness of DeLaSalle’s programs and priorities, and strengthen its public image.
- General Office & Operational Duties:Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace. Attend staff meetings as required. Follow all relevant office procedures and etiquette, including effective telephone communication.
- Communication Solutions & Leadership:Identify emerging challenges and communication opportunities. Work with the leadership team to define strategies that address both internal and external needs, ensuring clear, effective messaging across all channels.
- Public Relations & Stakeholder Engagement:Work closely with the Executive Director of Advancement to design and execute public relations campaigns that support DeLaSalle’s goals, including increasing enrollment, engaging alumni, and driving donor support.
- Content Creation & Digital Presence:Oversee the creation and management of DeLaSalle’s website and other digital platforms, ensuring content is up-to-date and aligned with the school's strategic goals. This includes email newsletters (for school, development, admissions, and alumni), Islanders Forever Magazine, fundraising letters, annual reports, and other publications.
- Collaboration and Team Oversight:Collaborate with the Visual Content and Communications Specialist in executing all communications projects, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging across all media. Regular attendance at the Principal’s Council and Marketing/Communications meetings.
- Event Support & Attendance:Support communication efforts for school events, including those related to fundraising, admissions, and alumni engagement. Attend key events as required, which may include occasional evenings or weekends.
Other Responsibilities: Additional responsibilities identified as needed by employer and approved and/or assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience: At least three years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office Suite) and the Adobe Suite.
- Experience with website management tools such as Finalsite is a plus.
- Ability to create printed and online newsletters, including content development and layout
- Experience in public relations or media relations is a plus.

Physical and Working Conditions
