What will you do?
- Assist with the complete catering setup in accordance with banquet event order (BEO), including but not limited to, tables settings, buffets, and beverage stations
- Accurately transports food and beverages to guests in a timely manner
- Performs necessary tasks to service guests including, but not limited to, filling drink orders, providing refills, answering questions, and clearing dirty dishes
- Notifies guests of food and beverage preparation techniques and has knowledge of menu offerings
- Monitors guest needs on a continual basis ensuring all requests are promptly fulfilled; handles any guest complaints
- Replenishes food on buffet lines if necessary
- Maintains a safe and clean environment for guests and fellow associates
- Ensures proper stock of all product and supplies needed for service
- Breaks down event according to company procedures
- May be required to bus tables during and at completion of event
- Performs other duties as assigned
More about you
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Minimum of 1-3 months previous experience in food beverage service or related guest service environment preferred
- Ability to complete required pre-employment food safety and alcohol service training
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple table assignments at one time
- Ability to work with the varying event schedule is preferred
- Strong communication skills, including listening skills and ability to take food and beverage orders and fill those orders correctly
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds for set-up, service and clean-up of functions
- Ability to stand or walk for entire length of shift; may include walking up and down stairs
- Good mobility to maneuver between tables to deliver food to customers
- Oversee events indoors as well as outdoors, regardless of weather conditions
- May be exposed to variable temperatures, including extreme heat and cold, depending on season
