Delaware Valley Residential Care is currently seeking a Cook to prepare the food, maintain the cooking environment clean and safe for all staff members and assist with any culinary tasks as they arise.
Pay rate: $17/hour
Responsibilities:
- Ensure meals are nutritionally balanced, well-planned, and prepared and served in a manner that meets established governmental health and safety codes
- Ensure special meals/diets should be prepared and served according to written orders of the responsible health authority
- Maintain all applicable health/sanitation codes and standards
- Store all food per applicable standards to ensure sanitation, freshness and quality
- Carefully supervise food temperature and the temperature from cooling rooms, to ensure ingredients are kept at the appropriate temperature
- Maintain knowledge of applicable sanitation and health codes
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- 2-5 years experience in foodservice environment, preferred
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferred
- ServeSafe Certification, required
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and promote a positive environment for both team members and participants
- Knowledge of applicable sanitation and health codes
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Proven track record of timeliness and accountability
