Introduction:
Delco Detox is looking to recruit a Residential Case Manager with experience in Inpatient Level of Care (Detox, Res, RTC). The candidate(s) must present exemplary ethics and boundaries, knowledge of substance abuse and mental health care treatment and modalities, and self-starting attitude.
The candidate(s) must be proficient in Outcome Tools Patient Assessments, Intake Process, Discharge Planning/Protocol, Group Facilitation, Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with other disciplined professionals, Case Management Interventions, and understanding of Social/Human Services Government Assistance and Programs.

- Meeting with assigned case load of 1 to 6 clients, of population described as adults 18 and over, possible placed in a category of minorities, and diagnosed with Mental Illness (Comorbidity) and/or Co-occurring Disorders (f.k.a., Dual Diagnosis) to develop and accomplish set goals to accomplish while in treatment.
- Demonstrating knowledge in Substance Abuse, Mental Health, Co-Occurring Disorders, and other Behavioral Health deficiencies in treatment care, prognosis, symptomatology, and evidence based practices that will provide appropriate individualized plans.
- Comfortable Collaborating with other professionals regarding treatment and care for each client in our care.
- Experience in using Motivational Interviewing, Psycho-education Methods, Relapse Prevention Interventions, Crisis Intervention and Prevention, Addiction Education, and Peer Mentoring.
- Assessing and evaluating clients through the use of scales, outcome tools, and other evidence based practices of measuring tools.
- Experience with using EMR/EHR (KIPU a plus) and having professional documentation skills.
- Scheduling first session with client within 2 clinical days of client being admitted into program
- Assisting clients with FMLA, SDI, CalFresh, General Relief, Court Letters, and/or other pertinent matters.
- Comfortable communicating with client's family members, spouse/partner, employers/HR, Probation/Parole Officers, and other third party individuals involved in the clients release of information contacts.
- Providing Recovery 12 Step Modality to clients, community integration of sober support groups, and local resources that are within the clients' aftercare plan location or hometown.
- Enforcing professional boundaries with clients as well as staff and being an example in showing respect among each other no matter what age, race, sexual orientation, criminal history or medical history they may have.
- Maintaining communication with clients on a daily basis and checking in on their progress towards their goals, challenges, and accomplishments.
Skills
- Intake Process evaluation, screening, assessing, and documenting accordingly. (Experience documenting Intake Assessment, Biopsychosocial, Suicide Risk Assessment, Outcome Tools, and Withdrawal Scales.)
- Case Management Initial Session (Orientation/Initial Case Management Session includes (Case Management Note, Orientation Packet, Pre-Discharge Plan, ITP/MTP, and Treatment Criteria of Engagement)
- Facilitating Group Therapy sessions related to Relapse Prevention, Psychoeducation, Addiction Process, and Psychosocial Reintegration, etc and complete group therapy notes.
- Discharge Protocol; handling AMA/ACA, AWOL, Administrative, and Transfer to Higher LOC and/or other facilities, and how to provide Aftercare Planning, Community Resources, and Safety Plan.
- Meeting 2 to 3 times weekly with clients for updates on clients symptomatology, concerns, engagement, and/other maintaining treatment requirements.
- Assist other staff with Crisis Intervention, Harm Reduction, Drug Screening, and/or collaboration with other professions regarding client's care and concerns.
- Proficient and Experienced in completing Insurance Authorization Assessments to acquire covered days for treatment in Detox and RTC levels of care by completing Medical Necessity Assessments, Clinical Reviews, Concurrent Reviews, and/or Utilization Reviews.
- Demonstrating proficiency in knowledge and experience in completing ASAM Template Forms and with ASAM Criteria and LOC.
- Exceptional consideration for a candidate for this role would be an individual with knowledge with Medical, Clinical, and Psychosocial terminology, acronyms, abbreviations, and quantitative definition.
Qualifications
Minimum Education or Alternative Consideration:
- Associates degree in Psychology, Addiction Studies, Behavioral Science, and/or Human Services/Social Services with 1 year of experience in working in Addiction, Chemical Dependence, and/or detox level of care; highly preferred.
OR
- May Accept High School Diploma/GED with 2-3 years of experience working in Addiction, Chemical Dependence, and/or detox level of care, and having professional development plans to acquire a credential in this field will be considered.
OR
- Must be attending college for behavioral health type of education or a technical/vocational program to acquire a career, with 1-2 years of experience in working in Addiction, Chemical Dependence, and/or detox level of care, required.
Preferred Education:
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Addiction Studies, Behavioral Science, and/or Human Services/Social Worker; with 1 year of experience in working in Addiction, Chemical Dependence, and/or detox level of care or other Behavioral health industries, highly preferred.
OR
- Attending a Bachelor's Degree Program in Psychology, Addiction Studies, Behavioral Science, and/or Human Services/Social Worker; with 2 years of experience in working in Addiction, Chemical Dependence, and/or detox level of care, highly recommended.
Minimum Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
- Substance Use Disorder Registered Counselor (SUDRC) through CADTP
- Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT) thought CCAPP
- Registered Addiction Counselor/Specialist (RAC/RAS) through CAADE
- Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) through CCAPP MHC
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPPS) through CCAPP and/or DHCS.
- Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) through any national boards.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the ABA or BCBA.
Preferred Credential(s):
- Certified Case Manager (CCM) through CCMC
- Certified Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (CMHRS) through BTC in CCAPP
- Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor I or II (CADC I/II) through CCAPP
- Certified Addiction Counselor/Specialist (CAC/CAS) through CAADE
- Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC) through CADTP
Exceptional to have for Candidate:
- Experience working in level of cares of Inpatient and Outpatient at least 1-3 years of work experience
- Previous experience working as an Advocate, Mentor, Case Worker, Technician, and/or Coordinator
- If in Recovery that is a plus, and must have a solid program outside of work and 2 years of verifiable sobriety time.
- Is able to Commute to Chatsworth, CA or be local
- Experience using EMR/EHR (KIPU is a plus)
