The Gladstone Area School District seeks a qualified candidate for the following position :

Athletic Director

Location : Gladstone High School

Start Date : July 01, 2025

Reports to : Superintendent, High School / Middle School Principals

Salary : Yearly

Deadline : February 28, 2025

Qualifications

Successful teaching experience in a public school district preferred
Successful head coaching experience, preferably at the varsity level
Administrative certification preferred, or willingness to obtain administrative certification within two years of accepting the position

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor Degree or higher

Passion for working collaboratively with youth, families, and staff

Strong relationship-building and communication skills supporting a team approach to education and athletics

Eagerness to approach problems from new and different perspectives

Strong organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Comfort in high visibility positions

Growth mindset focused on constructive interactions

Job Description

Coordinate athletics in grades 7-12

Schedule athletic events

Coordinate and schedule athletic facility usage

Coordinate and schedule athletic transportation and accommodations

Recruit and recommend coaches for hire

Evaluate coaches

Supervise and manage athletic budgets

Maintain good relationship with fan club

Handle parent athletic concerns and rule violations

Develop, recommend, and enforce applicable policy

Secure officials for athletic events

Supervise athletic events

Supervise other events under the direction of the school principals

Coordinate administrative coverage at events when necessary

Assist with other administrative tasks within the District when needed

Other duties as assigned
