Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the GCFCTL that supports DSU’s academic mission and strategic priorities.
- Lead the design and assessment of comprehensive faculty development programs focused on teaching effectiveness, instructional technology, and curriculum design.
- Engage in continuous evaluation of the Center’s initiatives, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals.
- Provide leadership in pursuing external grant funding to support faculty development and instructional innovation.
- Design and facilitate workshops, seminars, and events that support faculty in adopting effective teaching practices and innovative instructional strategies.
- Provide individual and group consultations to faculty on curriculum design, instructional methods, and educational technology.
- Promote the integration of instructional technology and generative AI tools into teaching practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in teaching across the university.
- Manage the GCFCTL’s annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and effective allocation of resources.
- Supervise, evaluate, and support the professional development of the Center’s staff, including instructional designers, administrative support, and student workers.
- Oversee daily operations of the Center and ensure effective communication of its programs and services to campus stakeholders.
- Collaborate with academic departments, campus committees, and administrative offices to align Center initiatives with university priorities.
- Develop partnerships with external organizations and community stakeholders to promote instructional excellence and faculty engagement.
- Represent DSU and the GCFCTL at local, state, and national conferences and events.
- Serve on university committees and task forces related to teaching, learning, faculty development, and academic innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
Qualifications

Education & Training:
Master’s degree from an accredited institution required; Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Education, Higher Education Administration, Instructional Design, or a closely related field preferred.
Formal training or extensive experience in university-level teaching, instructional design, faculty development, or educational technology.

Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, including direct experience in teaching and/or faculty development.
Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and assessing faculty development programs.
Experience in budget management, staff supervision, and grant writing preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:
