Overview
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our team. The Insurance Coordinator will be responsible for handling insurance verifications, entering insurance EOB's and contacting patients regarding remaining balances due to collect that money. They will also be responsible for maintaining the insurance aging report.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits
- Process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date insurance fee schedules
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and guidelines
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim denials or discrepancies
- Assist in sending statements each month
- Coordinate with office manager to make sure all claims are processed and paid
Skills
- Proficiency in insurance verification processes
- Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend and reading a ledger and calculating insurance adjustments correctly
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
- Experience working in a dental office setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of managed care and insurance billing procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
