DutiesThis position is located in the Division of Gas - Environment and Engineering in the Office of Energy ProjectsAs an Environmental Protection Specialist, some of your typical work assignments may include : Serving as the Environmental Compliance Specialist, overseeing the Third-Party Compliance Monitoring Program, including providing guidance to staff and third-party Compliance Monitoring contractors on the application of the Compliance Monitoring Program; Assisting the Division’s Environmental Compliance Manager.Directing the preparation of environmental assessments and environmental impact statements, pursuant to the objectives and aims of NEPA and in accordance with Section 380 of the FERC's Rules of Practice and Procedures.Providing guidance and training to FERC staff and representatives of the natural gas industry on the interpretation and application of the Commission’s Plan and Procedures and other issues or problems that occur during the construction of facilities and restoration of work areas.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentYou must be a U.S. Citizen or National.You must provide your SF-50 (see Required Documents section). Specialized experience is defined as : Experience performing construction inspections of natural gas facilities and experience analyzing the restoration of work areas related to natural gas facility construction.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
